Alpinism & Ski Wanaka are a mountain and ski guiding company
operating in the Southern Alps of New Zealand and the Swiss, French,
and Italian Alps
Specializing in quality experiences for small groups and individuals
in New Zealand and Europe with world class internationally qualified
mountain guides.
Guided Mountain ascents
For our New Zealand operations, the Southern Alps offer mountaineering
challenges second to none with a great taste of wilderness. Climb
Mt Cook, Mt Tasman or Mt Aspiring with the safety and comfort of
our alpine guides. For our private ascents program the list is endless.
In Europe during June, July and August, we operate out of the charming
Swiss village of Leysin and enjoy the excellent climbing and infrastructure
that Europe provides.
Mountaineering Courses
Alpinism and Ski offer mountaineering courses from introductory
to intermediate-advanced and private mountaineering instruction.
Learn while climbing in New Zealand's challenging mountain terrain.
2010 scheduled course program now available.
Skiing and Snow Board Touring
Experience the back country outside the ski resort boundaries on
skis or boards. Discover the glaciated wilderness of the Alps. Learn
the avalanche skills to travel safely in snow and ice.
Guided Trekking, Tramping, Walking
Lower down in the forest and meadows we run guided hiking, tramping,
trekking and walks. Come NZ late winter we specialize in back country
ski touring and offer a back country enthusiast avalanche course.
