The Alpinism studio

is situated on the same property as the Alpinism & Ski enterprise in Wanaka. Your mostly happy hosts are Iris and Gary Dickson with Ziggy the friendly watch dog.

Split level, it contains a double bed, toilet/shower, heating, kitchen with fridge, stove, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, electric frying pan etc. and living area with a small sofa bed; ideal for a couple, but children and dogs are allowed (if controlled);
bed linen and towels are provided.

Free wi-fi and plenty of advice about places to visit and things to do.

Best suited for a couple, though a small sofa bed could be used for a third person.
Cozy, humble and comfortable, 5 min. walk from the lake, 25 min. to town center and just a couple of min. away from the top quality mountain biking trails. It is the holiday studio of Alpinism & Ski Ltd, guiding and ski touring enterprise established since the millenium year.

Our ski touring, trekking and mountaineering guests have the option to stay in this charming little cottage or in the main house.

You are welcome to use the barbeque, there is a sauna and garden bath in the fenced in property, availability can be arranged, a special treat after any activity in our alpine paradise.

Optional are guided trekking excursions, locally half a day around the beautiful Wanaka area, eg. Diamond lake loop track up Rocky mountain, Glene Dene station visit or full days into Mt Aspiring National Park. Further, a visit to Fox Glacier over Haast Pass or Mount Cook village to see the longest glacier in the country. Introduction to native and not so native fauna and flora with an interpretation about some local history.

Alpinism and ski activities of the more demanding kind such as mountaineering, ascents trips to Mt Aspiring, Mt Cook, Tasman etc. can be arranged, as well as private alpine climbing and scheduled instruction courses or specialist training missions to acquire skills for safe enjoyment in the mountains and alpine wilderness.
