Commonly we use the Intro or Total Alpinism course structures as a platform to customize from, however on a private mountaineering instruction course, the flexibility is there to combine teaching and guided ascent(s).

To become an internationally fully qualified mountain guide takes approximately 5 years of training and assessment. Kiwi guides are trained and assessed through the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA) which is overseen by the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA).
